Turning promising ideas into investable, scalable companies.
Alimo Ventures works alongside technology entrepreneurs and scientific founders to transform promising ideas into viable businesses.
We provide hands-on support during the critical early stages of a venture - helping founders sharpen the opportunity, build the right team, develop a compelling business story, connect with customers and partners, and prepare for investment.
Our role is not simply to advise from the sidelines. We work closely with founders to help them get the venture organized, focused and moving - and ultimately ready to take off on its own.
Building a technology company involves much more than developing a great technology. Alimo helps founders put the other essential pieces in place.
We help founders examine the opportunity, challenge assumptions, define the problem being solved and translate an initial idea or technology into a credible business proposition.
We work together to develop the business model, market strategy, milestones, priorities and practical roadmap needed to turn the idea into a company.
A strong venture needs the right people. We help identify potential co-founders, executives, advisors and other team members, drawing where appropriate on our international network.
We help founders turn complex technologies and ideas into clear, compelling stories that customers, partners and investors can understand — positioning, investor presentations and pitch preparation.
We help founders develop realistic budgets, funding requirements, milestones and financial plans appropriate for an early-stage company.
We help prepare companies for investment, identify suitable investors, refine fundraising strategy and, where appropriate, make introductions through our international network.
For many technology companies, the first serious industry partner can be as important as the first investor. We help identify and approach potential design partners, customers, corporations and strategic collaborators.
Experienced Support When It Matters Most
Early-stage founders need someone experienced who can sit beside them, listen to their needs, ask the difficult questions, open doors, help solve problems and keep the company moving forward.
Alimo typically works with founders on a flexible, part-time basis - becoming a temporary extension of the founding team, providing experience and practical support without requiring the company to build a large management organization too early.
Local Relationships. International Perspective.
Technology companies must think global from their first steps.
Over more than three decades, we have built relationships with entrepreneurs, investors, corporations, universities and technology organizations across:
This network can help founders reach beyond their immediate environment to find investors, partners, expertise, talent and market opportunities internationally.
